Julia Koch has got a whopping $59.6 billion in her piggy bank. She got it from Koch Industries, a big company that does lots of pretty cool stuff like manufacturing paper, processing minerals, refining oil, and creating fertilizers.

Julia’s late husband, David Koch, was a big deal there, owning 42% of the whole company. Sadly, David passed away in 2019, but Julia and her three kids got their share of the inheritance from the family business. Julia Koch rose to one of the wealthiest women on Earth after David’s passing.

Julia Koch’s journey to the big bucks started in Iowa. Then, in the ’80s, she made a bold move to the city that never sleeps, New York.

Julia Koch worked with a famous fashion designer named Adolfo and was the VIP assistant to the stars, like First Lady Nancy Reagan. Talk about rubbing shoulders with the big shots!

Julia met David on a blind date in 1991. Destiny had other plans because, after bumping into each other six months later, they hit it off. Fast forward to 1996, and they tied the knot. Cue the wedding bells!

Back in the day, after hitching up with David, Julia rocked the New York scene, throwing epic bashes for the American Ballet Theater and the American Museum of Natural History. She co-chaired the Met Gala in ’97, standing tall with Anna Wintour and Patrick McCarthy.

In 2004, they traded their fancy Park Avenue for other cool houses like a beachfront mansion in the Hamptons, a massive pad in Palm Beach, and an expensive spot in Aspen.

The Manhattan flat went up for grabs in 2022. Julia and David once chilled in a Fifth Avenue flat owned by Jackie O herself. They snagged it in ’95 for a cool US$9.5 million.

Julia Koch isn’t just about the shimmering lifestyle, she’s got a heart of gold too. Together with her late husband “David Koch”, they donated $10 million to Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Another $10 million went to Stanford Children’s Hospital, all for researching food allergies. She’s not just into fancy parties; she cares about making the world a better place.

And oh, did I mention she’s teamed up with The Met and the American Museum of Natural History? She’s kind of a big deal in the world of fancy parties and giving back.
